This, is the voice from silent hands;
This, is the voice not heard, but seen
Reaching across the empty space between
Words, and the action that the mind demands
When words are not enough; this is the gesture.

Deaf Canada Conference 2008
Calgary, Alberta

 It is a great pleasure inviting you to the 8th Deaf Canada Conference in Calgary, Alberta. It will be held downtown at Calgary TELUS Convention Centre from July 22nd to 26th, 2008.

The purpose of the conference is to bring together Deaf people of all ages from across Canada to celebrate and share our important Deaf values: Deaf Culture, Deaf heritage, Deaf languages (ASL and LSQ), Deaf politics and Deaf Sports.

Let’s work together to ensure that we keep our Deaf values protected and enhanced, and empower and inspire future Deaf generations to lead and maintain our cherished Deaf Canadian community.  Hence, our theme: “Unity for Deafhood”.

The conference also offers visitors wonderful opportunities to explore our beautiful and growing city of Calgary and the Canadian Rockies.

We are looking forward to seeing you in Calgary in July 2008!
